iVerbum 1.0
iVerbum - Powerful index and search program that allows massive textual databases to be indexed quickly and
searched nearly instantaneously. RTF, RTFD data is loaded in a File Tree. Any combination of
folders can be indexed and searched. For each search, iVerbum creates a table (which may be as
large as thousands of finds) which consists of sample strings of the text surrounding each search.
Each file containing a find is marked in the File Tree. Selecting that file will then scroll the
table of Sample Finds to the specified file which then shows a listing of the sample finds.
Double-clicking a given sample find will load the pertinent file in the Text Pane and scroll the
text to the given search which is highlighted. iVerbum facilitates multiple copying for paper or
thesis preparation by enabling the using tocopy or add selected data to one of four memory buffers.
This data can then be pasted onto the Text Pane at the insertion point either in RTF format or in
plain text so as to make the style identical to the paragraph in which it is inserted. iVerbum has
a separate window to enable the user to create any number of Index Sets which the user can
arbitrarily name. Each Index Set is composed of any number of Root Folders which should be folders
composed of RTF, RTFD files. Upon loading the folders, iVerbum creates a plain text file for each
RTF, RTFD file. Although effectively transparent to the user, these files provide the indexing and
search information such that the rich text formatting and inclusion of pictures does not interfere
with accurate indexing. DOC and HTML (tables are loaded as pictures however) may also be imported
OS X.3 and OS X.4. iVerbum contains many convenience features for rapid acquisition of data and
production of notes and research. The RTF, RTFD data can then be easily imported to a word
processor for more precise formatting if necessary. iVerbum also permits drag and drop for files or
folders and marks indexes that are outdated.
